(From the Beekeeper) About 10 years ago, I went to a local Ice Cream Shop. I looked at the menu and saw something I thought was weird… lavender-flavored ice cream. Who would eat lavender? Yes, it sounded great in a bath or a bar of soap but for ice cream, no way. Being adventurous, it was way too hard to pass up, so when the high school girl working at the counter asked me what I wanted, I said lavender ice cream in a sugar cone, please (when you are from the Midwest, you always say please). Slowly I nibbled the cone expecting to be grossed out, but to my surprise, this was good Ice Cream; in fact, it was right then that I came up with the idea to make a fantastic lavender lip balm.
Well, I formulated a great flavor profile with the lavender, but the brightness was missing, so I added a nice shot of lemon oil, and voila, I created Lemon Lavender Lip Balm.
