It just makes sense…shouldn’t every beekeeper have a honey lip balm. The answer is not a simple one. One would think that you just add a little honey into your lip balm and viola you have beeswax honey lip balm, but nooooo that would just be a mushy mix of beeswax and honey! The honey float straight to the top making your lip balm gooey, yet delicious. But leaving a mess of honey on your lips. So back to the drawing board we went. What we found is in order to make a lip balm taste like honey, you need a honey flavor that is compatible with the oils and waxes we use. What we didn’t want is some artificial flavor that doesn’t taste like honey at all, and worse has a crappy aftertaste that shouldn’t be on your lips, let alone in our lip balm. Well, after months of trying many natural honey flavors we found the natural honey flavor that worked…it was floral like honey, and almost matched the smell of the honey that came out of our hives. Goal achieved: This Beekeeper has a smooth beeswax honey lip balm that is natural and actually feels good on your lips with a natural taste and smell of fresh spring honey.
