About 20 years ago, a colleague approached me with an unusual request-to place a beehive on my family farm. Little did I know that this seemingly random act would lead me on an unexpected journey into the world of beekeeping. When my colleague could no longer tend to the hive, I found myself stepping into the role of a beekeeper. This surprising turn of events sparked a deep fascination with the science and culture of bees, leading me to attend beekeeping workshops at The Ohio State University’s agricultural campus.
Beekeeping was more than a hobby for me; it was a deeply therapeutic activity.
