Tea Tree Oil packs a punch. The natives of Queensland and Australia have used it for over 100 years. It contains some compounds that have been known to kill certain bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

As you can imagine, Tea Tree Oil is worthy of study in the medical community. Some show it kills several common bacteria and viruses responsible for causing illness, including E. coli, S. pneumonia, and H. influenza.

In addition, studies have shown  Tea Tree Oil products prevent infection in cuts and abrasions, tea tree oil may encourage wound healing. For example, in a study comparing the effects of different treatments for contact dermatitis, tea tree oil was found to reduce symptoms by 40%, significantly more than standard medications applied to the skin.
