Since they can be hidden in shoes and below our nose, the health of our feet may not be a top priority. The following are some natural remedies said to help soften feet and improve their appearance after diligent use for at least one week.

Coconut Oil is considered to be a moisture-rich emollient, meaning it can help hydrate skin and keep it looking healthy. Rubbing coconut oil on your feet after the shower or before bedtime can help keep feet feeling soft.

“It helps moisturize your feet and also fights fungal and bacterial infections, thanks to its antimicrobial and anti-fungal properties,” writes the site Top 10 Home Remedies.

Much like coconut oil, Olive Oil also contains many nutrients and components known to help lock-in moisture to the skin. Olive oil can be used in the same way as coconut oil to alleviate dry or cracked feet.

Like olive and coconut oils, Shea Butter is a non-irritating moisturizing with plenty of hydrating power.

“Most seed oils can be divided into two important fractions. The first fraction is called the saponifiable fraction, which contains most of the moisturizing properties, (moisturizing fraction). The second fraction is called the nonsaponifiable fraction, which contains most of the healing properties, (healing fraction),” writes the Shea Institute. “What sets Shea Butter apart from other seed oils is its exceptionally large healing fraction. The healing fraction contains important nutrients, vitamins, and other valuable phytonutrients required for healing.”

Beeswax is another humectant known to trap moisture deep beneath layers of skin so that it stays put.

According to one informational source, melting beeswax in the microwave for a few seconds, until it is pliable, and placing it on your feet before bedtime while wearing socks can soften rough feet and soothe the cracks on heels.

“Mix one spoon of Honey to a bucketful of  water and soak up your feet in this solution to remove dead cells to minimize cracked heels,” this site also recommends.
